The Board of Directors of

THE LAND OF CANAAN FOUNDATION announces

LEGACY OF THE LAND FUND

Legacy Of The Land Fund donors make planned gifts because they share Palestinian farmers’ and women’s co-operative members’ love and care of the land, visions for a green Palestine, and hope for a bright, sustainable future.

Join friends of Palestine’s farming communities who are turning visions into plans and hopes into realities, now and for generations to come with these creative giving options:

GIFTS OF STOCK

You can help Palestine while conserving your cash for other uses. We’ll take your stocks, mutual funds, and bonds and turn them into life-changing assets for those who work the land of Palestine and produce its bounty. Your securities that have appreciated in value may be an especially attractive way for you to give now.

When you transfer ownership of securities to The Land of Canaan Foundation, you receive a charitable income tax deduction for their full market value, up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income, and you incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits). Yes; we will take those ‘dirty’ stocks and bonds you inherited and turn them into good works you support! We immediately sell securities and use the proceeds to benefit agricultural programs of Palestine.

Follow these EASY STEPS to make a gift of stock.

You can contact us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org to make arrangements.

GIFTS FROM A DONOR ADVISED FUND

Consider making your gift through your Donor Advised Fund if you have one. They are like a charitable investment account: you contribute to the fund, receive an immediate tax deduction, and invest your funds for tax free growth. You can then make grants at any time to support charities you love, now or over time.

Please contact us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org with any questions you have about making a DAF gift.

GIFTS FROM AN IRA

You can make a gift up to $100,000 as a charitable rollover to The Land of Canaan Foundation and receive tax benefits. If you are 72 or older, and you have not yet taken your required minimum distribution for the year, your IRA charitable rollover gift can satisfy all or part of that requirement. You receive tax benefits by giving from your IRA account(s) directly to a qualified not-for-profit organization such as The Land of Canaan Foundation

You pay no income taxes on charitable rollover gifts. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. In fact, the distribution reduces your taxable income, so you could avoid a Medicare high income surcharge and make less of your Social Security benefits taxable if you are a senior.

Make sure to notify us if you choose to make a gift so we know it came from you! We will send the necessary acknowledgement of your donation for tax reporting.

See IRA gift details. Seek the advice of your financial or legal advisor. Ask your IRA administrator about making a direct transfer to The Land of Canaan Foundation or have the administrator send a check from your account to us. (To be tax free, the donation must go directly from your account to LOCF without passing through your hands.) They will have an easy form or procedure.

BENEFICIARY DESIGNATION

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using such assets as IRAs, life insurance policies and bank accounts. You may name The Land of Canaan Foundation as remainder beneficiary of your retirement assets or other accounts.

Contact your retirement plan administrator, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form. (You may find the form on their website.) Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like The Land of Canaan Foundation to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, bank or financial institution. Let us know that you have named LOCF as a beneficiary by calling or email us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org.

GIFTS IN YOUR WILL

You can make a planned gift through a will or living trust, also known as a bequest. You can leave behind a legacy of caring that will support and empower countless Palestinian farm families. Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed. See MORE INFORMATION below.

Please contact us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org. We are available to discuss with you options and benefits you may consider in your current or estate plan. Let us know if you have left a legacy in your will by calling or email us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org. Always seek the advice of your financial or legal advisor. Will gift information.

MATCHING GIFTS

The Foundation is honored to have the support of generous individual donors who match contributions during campaigns and for special projects. Contact us at info@landofcanaanfoundation.org if you would like to inspire others with a matching gift.

DON'T FORGET, your employer may have a matching gift program. This is an easy way to double or even triple your contribution and make an even bigger impact! Matching gifts can provide general support or be designated for a specific program. Every company is different and may have its own guidelines for matching gifts. Contact your personnel office to find out if your company has a matching gift program.

These gifts benefit you, your loved ones, and Palestine’s farmers, women’s cooperative members, and farming communities immediately and into the future.
