USA Palestine Almond Exchange
CORE Director Dr. Samer Jarrar spent 10 days forging partnerships and sharing knowledge with UC Davis in California and North Carolina State University in April, 2016. This trip also raised awareness of the situation of Palestinian farmers. Thank you for funding this educational exchange and outreach.
California farmers are ripping out almond trees because of the drought; Palestinian farmers are planting almond trees in spite of the drought and the further unavailability of ground water due to the Israeli occupation.
Palestinian farmers have knowledge to share and CORE's mission is to build connections and knowledge exchange with international partners, and in turn transfer knowledge from international partners back to Palestinian farmers.
Dr. Jarrar also connected with Cornell University where the professors said that Palestine represents significant need and significant opportunity for knowledge exchange. Stay tuned for further updates.
