Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural in Olympia, Washington showing indigenous land loss in States and Palestine

The Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural in Olympia, Washington was vandalized this summer. The Rachel Corrie Foundation reports the defacement targeted one of the leaves of the mural’s central olive tree.

The leaf, designed by artist Gail Tremblay of the Onondaga and Mi’kmaq nations, compared maps of settler colonization: Native American nations by the United States and Palestinian land by Israel.

We need global solidarity against settler-colonial annexation of Indigenous lands. Targeting this leaf for defacement attempts to silence and disrupt Indigenous solidarity.

If you live in the Americas and you’re not Indigenous, you live on stolen land. Whose land?

Text the name of your city to (907) 312-5085 to find out.

If you are a visual person, find the First Nations on this map.

Use this knowledge to fight for justice for all Indigenous peoples!
