Regenerative agriculture can reverse global warming by vacuuming carbon out of the atmosphere and putting it into the soil to help cool the planet.

A 2019 UN Report reveals that future health of the earth will depend on an understanding of and desire to implement regenerative agriculture across the planet. In addition to reversing the effects of climate change by reducing atmospheric carbon, this method of farming also supports food security. The rebuilding of organic carbon improves and restores soil, not to mention increases the soil's biodiversity, allowing farmers to rely on a more consistent and fruitful yield. Preserving the health of our planet and promoting economic security for families are interconnected, a concept farmers in Palestine have understood and been practicing, in particular with the support and resources of the Palestine Fair Trade Association (PFTA).

Over-farming soil, with chemical fertilizers and pesticides, kills soil microbes and fungi. But rich healthy soil has microorganisms in it that consume carbon and sequester it. Healing the soil may sequester enough carbon to slow and ultimately reverse the effects of climate change.

The Land of Canaan Foundation reminds you we can do this as consumers, by supporting farmers and companies practicing regenerative agriculture.
