Ancient Rumi olive tree in Palestine

Farming your own land is a superb form of non-violent resistance to occupation. Respected journalist Jonathan Cook has nailed it in the September-October issue of AMEU's The Link.

Centuries of cultivation of the olive tree has rooted Palestinians to the soil as deeply as their trees. He writes of the assault of the occupation on their olive groves and the Palestinian way of life.

Planned 'industrial zones' will take farmers’ land and make them factory workers to benefit the occupier versus the self sufficiency of fair trade farming, Canaan-style.

Jonathan Cook accurately details the hardships and injustices of the occupation on rural Palestinians, and the hope that the fair trade Canaan projects bring to Palestine.

They shine light on Palestine by bringing Palestinian olive oil to the world. They support the 52 village farmer cooperatives of the PFTA and the agricultural education projects of CORE. You can read the entire article on AMEU website, or download The Link.

LOCF exists to support these farming communities in Palestine, with your help.
